I never imagined that I would take part in a cycli

I never imagined that I would take part in a cycling race of any kind, but here I am (a few years ago) taking part in the annual 94.7 cycle challenge.
.
(This race so named because you have to cycle what feels like a jolly long 94.7km of road to get yourself a medal!)
.
I was an original couch potato before I switched things up about ten years ago. Today I know that keeping our bodies moving is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, especially as we grow older.
.
I recently had the pleasure of chatting with the delightful Rosario @the_vitalitycoach on her Mature Movers podcast.
.
Rosario is a young woman who is passionate about helping older adults to stay fit and healthy. The Vitality Coach offers tons of practical information around health and fitness, definitely worth following.

One pressing job on the list is to figure out where best to keep the proceeds from the sale of my flat, while I decide what next. (Yes, I AM tempted to book an around-the-world cruise, but that might not be the most sensible idea!)

I have been chatting to friends and family for their thoughts and advice, but that seems only to have added to my confusion!

And then (don't you love serendipity) the perfect solution presents itself in the shape of the opportunity to partner with the @sanlam_group for the Money Meet Ups. #moneymeetups

I feel that I need someone who really "gets" me to help me with my decision, so the Money Meet Ups search that allows me to find people who even have the same hobbies and interests as I do is perfect to help me find the right person to chat to - someone I can be sure that I will gel with.

At home in my cosies on this autumn morning.

But.... yesterday afternoon I went to Madagascar!
.
We started off at the market in Antananarivo (lots of lovely vegetables that were new to me) and then caught a bus into the suburbs, where we were invited into Faby, our tour guide's home, to meet his family. I learnt loads of fascinating things about Madagascar and its people as we spent time with the family in their kitchen as they prepared their evening meal. (I am definitely going to attempt making the traditional dish of cassava leaves cooked in coconut milk, it looked delicious.)
.
tenLocals' @tenlocals invited me to try out one of their virtual walking tours, so I booked a "day in the life of a Madagascar citizen" and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the real-time and fully interactive experience gave me a real sense of being there, and of spending time with the family in their home.
.
The best part of all is that the tours bring much-needed work for guides in many different countries in these times while travel is so limited.
.
This week you could wander through the streets of Istanbul, enjoy the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, visit the Great Pyramid of Giza or pop into Picasso's home in Montmartre - among many other adventures.
.

I have always loved big handbags, I can’t seem to help myself 🤷‍♀️

One of the first special things I ever bought for myself was a beautiful, big, black bag.
.
I was only 17 and I worked as an operator at the telephone exchange in Harare, and I had very little money left over each month after I’d paid for my board and lodging.
.
I remember looking longingly at the bag hanging in the shop window when I walked past during my lunch breaks; and I eventually managed to save up enough to buy it. I loved it and used it for many years.
.
My black Bolder Bag is not quite as much of a show-off as the chartreuse version that I usually wear, but she’s still a fabulous head-turner.
.
Red, chartreuse, grey and black versions are available in my little shop ❤️
